Crap.... There's gold in them there hills, new information about three of this summers festivals. So without further ado, lets get on with it. First off is Glenworth Valley 99 info. The first portion of the lineup consists of The Tea Party, Regurgitator, You Am I, Pocket, Somarasa, Alex Lloyd, On and the Resin Dogs. Next up is info on the Falls electronic acts; Freddie Fresh, DJ Lins, DJ Fleece, DJ C3PO, Pound System, DJ DV8, Natural One, One and Psyburbia. Finally, last but not, by no means, least Big Day Out. This announcement is by no means officially sanctioned, but I'm going to do it anyway. Here are three more bands for the event: Foo Fighters, Slipknot and Goldie. So I hope that has satisfied your need for info until Tuesday. When I find out more it'll be on the page. Later dudes.

25.10.99 7:28 pm

Hello all. Well more albums have been reviewed. Have a look at the album review page for reviews of the new Rage Against the Machine album, along with the Cure's Disintegration and Regurgitator's ...Art. Other than that I haven't been up to much. I'm looking out for Glenworth Valley information and will bring it to you the moment it comes to hand. And look for my interview with one of the organisiers of the Falls, which I hope to have up very soon. What else is on the horizon... Well I hope to have the latest batch of Big Day Out bands up within days, so stay tuned. I've got my ear to the ground for you, so check back later this week, say Wednesday. Till then, be good!!!

24.10.99 8:48 pm

Allrighty then.... I've added two new reviews to the Album review page... Yaya. Have a look at em. Oh and Glenworth Valley is happenning again on the 27th and 28th of December, so I hope to have some info on that shortly. Oh well later all.....

18.10.99 8:48 pm

That planned update has finally been realised. I've updated the festivals page and also the upcoming gigs. Yay for me. Also, and this is the big news for today more bands for the Falls have been announced. Along with the Violent Femmes; The Tea Party, You Am I, Frenzal Rhomb, Something For Kate, 28 Days, Rhubarb and Waylayd will be playing the hype free NYE event. Oh well until Wednesday, later all.

12.10.99 8:48 pm

Alrighty boys and girls, welcome back to Steve's rockarama. Yes I'm back, and I've been a writing. On the fetivals page you'll now see a review of the Glenworth Valley Weekender last weekend. In the coming days you'll see reviews of Alanis Morisette and Garbage as well so stay tuned. In other news I'll endevour to update the festivals page asap, when I get some time. Oh well later.

08.10.99 8:48 pm

Welcome all to Steve's Big Day Out announcement page. Yes people, I'll get the news before anyone else. First new act of the cab rank this evenning is Goldie. My moles in the music underground have been working well for me. But there's more.... Tix are on sale this Monday from 9:00 am. Finally I have a correction, AC/DC were rumoured headliners for the English BIg Day Out. I wish those poms would just stop copying us.

06.10.99 9:48 pm

Hello all. Well first off I'd like to thank the 1000 or so of you who have visited this site in the past month, its nice to know that no budget publishing actually works, and I encourage all of you to send your friends here, who knows I may soon have a budget. Now for the music news. It appears that this years Vans Warped Tour will not be happenning util October due to a lack of viable talent for the tour. Methinks this means that because Blink 182 and Joe Strummer are on the BDO there's no chance of getting people to a Warped this year. Oh well, another festival in October won't go astray. I'll attempt to do an overhaul of the festivals page this weekend and put up my photos from Glenworth Valley. Oh and I'll also put up the review. Finally to round off this news update I've got some tour rumours for y'all from my good old friends at Beat Magazine. here they are Ben Harper, Chris Cornell (BDO), AC/DC (I heard somewhere that these guys were the rumoured headliners for this years BDO), Goldie, The Charlatans, Happy Mondays (BDO), Orbital, Money Mark, Harry Connick Jr, Jamiroquai, Money Mark, Limp Bizkit (BDO), Kiss, Rage Against the Machine, Gay Dad (BDO), Mark Lizotte/Taxiride. So stay tuned for more info about these upcoming gigs.

04.10.99 4:14 pm

Well, I'm back. A little tired after a three and a half hour trip home at 12:00 am. But we got home by 4:00 and we're safe. Kudos to Mr Gould for being such an awesome driver, and not getting us killed. Weekender was a blast, other than the fucking cro magnums in the mosh durring the Offspring. Band of the weekend had to be the Foo Fighters. Gawd they rule.... Stupid dumb ass band award went to Area 7. They not only performed at Livid on Saturday, but flew down to Weekender to close out the night. That's bloody stupid in my book. Oh well I'm off to check my mail etc. Have a great day, and if you want to send me a Livid review please feel free. Adios.

30.09.99 6:46 pm

I'm off tomorrow, but don't worry, I'll attempt to update from the Glenworth Valley Weekender. So, fingers crossed there'll be a Foo Fighters reveiw up here on Sunday morning. If not, you'll read all about it on Monday. I'm also doing my best to dig up more Big Day Out news, and will bring you the next additions to the lineup as soon as possible. So check back regularly. Hmmm what else. Oh I'll update the festivals page when I get back. Anything else before I go.... if your going to Livid have a great day, and if your going to Weekender I'm sure you'll find me wearing a Rammstein T-shirt on Saturday.... Till then, later dudes.

29.09.99 6:46 pm

The Big Day Out Press release is here... Click here to read it for full dates etc. Big Day Out Press release. As the secret had been so dodgy they had to add some bands to the lineup, so now on are Magic Dirt, Spiderbait, Yothu Yindi, Primal Scream, Honeysmack and Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros. Wooo hoooooo!!!! Big Day OUT!!!!! Till tomorrow.

28.09.99 5:46 pm

Bleg... I just finished the new title graphics for the page... Don't they look spiffy.... Yet another confirmation of the Big Day Out info, it was broadcast on New Zealand television, in an interview with the organisers of the Auckland show. So tomorrows press release should confirm this. In other news, I'll be going to Glenworth Valley Weekender, so I'm hoping to take some photos there and also update twice a day from the festival. I'm sure the highlight for me will be seeing the Foo Fighters play some of their new material. So expect a review of that on Sunday morning.... Woohoo... I hope all you new visitors check back again, and if you want to get into contact with me please ICQ me... Oh and when I get the Big Day Out press release tomorrow, I'll post it right here in the news... So until then have a good night....

27.09.99 8:12 pm

Whoops I forgot one, not only are Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nine Inch Nails, Grinspoon, Blink 182 and Shihad playing the Big Day Out, but the Chemical Brothers are too. Whoops....

27.09.99 7:05 pm

Righto kids it's on the web four days early.... Big Day Out 2000 the first six bands..... So without furhter ado here they are.... Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nine Inch Nails, Grinspoon, Blink 182 and Shihad. So I am now the first on the web with the news.... Woohoo... I'm getting tix this weekend. I'm a happy boy.

23.09.99 8:09 pm

Woo.... I just got my Fragile review finished, so its now up on the Album reviews page. It kicks ass, I absolutely love it. Umm there's not much happenning gigwise, but I hope to do a full update sometime next week. Well enjoy the NiN review, I'm going to Sydney this weekend, so see y'all next weeksometime.

20.09.99 10:25 pm

I'm a tad concerned about the health of my bank balance.... Bloody hell, going to Weekender, and the new NiN album, along with other things I want to do... I'll put up a review of the Fragile tomorrow. It needs another listen or two. But I can tell you know it is very, very good. Well worth the wait. I'll know if RATM are on the Big Day Out next year on Thursday... So make sure to check back on Thursday for details. Also Korn have just gotten out of the studio and expect their new album to be out on the 16th November in the states, so expect it on the 15th here. Metal for the Brain tix are $20.00 not fifteen, bery sorry bout the slip. Finally, and this probably isn't news to most of you, but I'll put it up anyway.... RATM album due out on the 2nd of November in Australia. Well untill tomorrow, sleep well my pretties.

17.09.99 8:27 pm

OK well I've had an absolute bugger of a week, and I've also had a couple of beers this evenning, so appologies for any incoherence. What little pearls of wisdom can I share with you this evenning. Canberra's annual festival is on again, and no I don't mean fucking Floriade. Metal for the Brain will be on again this year at the ANU bar as always. Twelve hours of full on metal mayhem. Yay... Playing this year are... Cryogenic, Alchemist, Blood Duster, Superheist, Nazxul, Destroyer 666, Armoured Angel, Dreadnaught, Pod People, Sakkuth, Psi.Kore, Order of Chaos, Earth, Psychrist, Crypt, Dungeon, Compost, Dezakrate, Cynosure, and Alarum. Tickets will be about $15.00, and it'll be one brutal day on the ears. I'm scratching my head for ideas for the site, so if anyone has any stuff to contribute, drop me a line. Since I'm now on Uni break I'll endevour to do a bit of spring cleaning around the site and spiff things like the festivals page up a bit. Also expect more gig reviews the week after next. Later Dudes........

10.09.99 8:27 pm

The readers have spoken, you want tour rumours, well I've got.... some. Here they are; Happy Mondays (Big Day Out), Orbital(Big Day Out), Money Mark, Harry Connick Jr, Jamiroquai (Big Day Out), Micheal Jackson (Acutally he's been confirmed for NYE in Sydney), Buck Cherry (Again, actually touring October), Zeke, Limp Bizkit (Big Day Out), Melissa Ethridge, Kula Shaker, Kiss, Rage Against The Machine (Big Day Out), Gay Dad, and last but not least Nine Inch Nails (Big Day Out). So hopefully, fingers crossed we'll see some of these bands this year or early nest year for the Big Day Out.

08.09.99 8:27 pm

Bloody hell, my birthday plans are shot. Homebake has been moved, it's now on a week later on the 11th of December, in the usual place, the Domain in Sydney. Added to the lineup were some more of the usual suspects, Grinspoon, the Dirty Three, Alex Lloyd and Something for Kate. OK in local news now, those awesome popsters, You Am I will be playing Canberra Uni on the 19th October. Also playing... NEWS FLASH... Swedish Punksters, No Fun At All will be playing the Falls... back to what I was saying The Whitlams will be playing the Canberra Labour Club on the 7th of October, with Diana Ah Naid and iOTA tagging along as support. October is gearing up to be the GIG month.

05.09.99 10:27 pm

I know your all itching for Big Day Out Info as much as I am, well tickets go on sale on the 2nd October, and on the 1st October the new web site will be up and running. So only a month to wait and then we'll know all about the BDO. Oh also Rebecca's Empire are playing at the ANU Bar on the 24th October, in support of their new album. See ya Tuesday.

04.09.99 10:27 pm

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, I hear by open a new section of this webpage, album reviews. When I get my hot little hands on a new CD from now on, expect to see a review here not long after I've bought it. This will vary from the Rammstein album I bought today, to pop music, all the way through to jazz and blues. I also hope to grab some of the good stuff out of my CD collection and review that. There's a lot of materiel to cover. Well read the review, send me your impressions and I'll work on it. Till Wendesday I bid you all sweet dreams.

04.09.99 9:17 pm

OK I admit it Yahoo Pager sucks ass, so instead I implore you all to get your hands on ICQ because now you can send info to me via ICQ. Ain't that exciting. My UIN is 48287849, this is the best way to get in contact with me.... Later this evenning I'll be starting a new section to the page.... CD reviews. At this point in time I'm listenning to the new Rammstein Album, and will be submitting my thoughts a little later in the night. I can tell you at this point in time that it is a damn fine live album, one of the best you'll ever find around. Two CD's of absolute awesomeness. WOOOOOO Du Hast just came one. Du, Du Hast, Du Hast Mich. Well until later... Play it safe kiddies, don't play with fire.

03.09.99 8:40 pm

Well I didn;t think I'd have an update for y'all today, as there is no new concert info. But I did find a little gem... Who remembers Voltron from about 10 years ago, well there's a new series of it about to be screened at 3:30 pm every weekday on the Seven Network. Yayayaya. Oh well that's all folks.

01.09.99 9:07 pm

We WANT CHILI WILI, we WANT CHILI WILI. Yes that's right the Red Hot Chili Peppers shall be touring Australia in January / February 2000. Playing Brisbane on the 24th, Sydney the 27th, Melbourne the 1st and Perth the 7th. Is it just me or do these dates tend to fit in with those of the Big Day Out. Yes I definately think that the Chili Peppers will be playing Big Day Out 2000. In news that's just as exciting, Weekender just got some more bands, with more to be announced. Added to the bill, the Foo Fighters, yes the Foo Fighters, Jebediah, Not from There, The Avalanches, Underground Lovers and Resin Dogs. Seeing as my Livid plans went foul, ohhhhhh, I hope, fingers crossed I'll be there. Well that's me done for the day I'm now a very happy chappy. See ya Friday dudes.

29.08.99 9:07 pm

Now there was some reason for this update, I'm sure there was.... Oh yeah, that's right... I want to write a feature article about this years Big Day Out, and who you all want to see there. So I'll be at the next all ages gig in Canberra, which is The Living End on the 28 th, so I'll be out the front notebook and camera in hand, harrassing people. If you can't get there and wish to contribute please, please, I encourage you all to email grugsmug@yahoo.com. Please help me out. Well I'll be back sometime next week. Be good.

17.08.99 8:30 pm

25.08.99 7:07 pm

These Summer tours are starting to get me itchy for big moshes and big bands. My news for today has to do with the one and only Australian music carnival Homebake. Yes, Homebake, we don't know where it's going to be held, but I can tell you the date, 4 th December, yes that's right only two days before my birthday, so to everyone I know out there in cyberspace the plan is for Steve's 20 th birthday we're going to Homabake. But I've gotten off track here, you all want to know whos on the bill, well wonder no more. The confirmed acts for Homebake thus far are: silverchair, Powderfinger, Frenzal Rhomb, Gerling and the Resin Dogs. So there have I statisfied your curiosity, I hope so. Oh and BTW I forgot to put in a tour on my last update, Shihad, those fellows from New Zealand will be in town on September 1 at the Gypsy. Finally for all you budding rock journos out there, like one's self, if you want to have some of your material published send it on in to me and I'll see what I can do, I mean I'll try and bung it on the page somewhere. Final final thing I want to say is that if you have any ideas about who you want to see on the Big Day Out this year, post em on in, next all ages gig in Canberra I'm going to try and get out and ask some of the kiddies about who they want to see. Well the Chemical Brothers Exit Planet Dust helped my through this review. I'll see Y'all later.

24.08.99 7:50 pm

You miss the bus in the morning, and that just sets the tone for the day. Well kiddies, don't expect a Livid review from this little black duck, getting up there has just gotten a smidgen to hard, but if anyone feels generous and would like to have their photo displayed on this website in big glowing letters then please get in contact with me, as I would still like to go to Livid, and sponsorship is always an option. If anyone wants to advertise on my site, please get in contact with me to arrange something. Oh well I'm off to mope about my missed oppertunity, hopefully tommorow will bring some happier news, and maybe even a gig review. Adios girlies.

22.08.99 4:07 pm

It's alive, it's alive. Yes it is alive, a live band or two, they're visitin Canberra in the next few months/weeks. October should see the return of the Whitlams. Playing stuff off their new LP and rumoured to be supporting them are a twelve piece swing band. There are a few smaller gigs going on around the place, namely the Gypsy Bar. Appearing next month are Floyd Vincent and the Child Brides along with Karma County, both playing the Ruby Lounge. Also Superheist will be playing two shows, one on the 4th for all you oldies and then one on the 5th at 2pm for all ages. They are one awesome metal band, and kicked ass as Fear Factory's support. Ticket prices for Alanis and Garbage were published on Friday.... $72.10, that is way too f@#king expensive for this little black duck to pay. SO if you want to go it's up to you, but remember Alanis is coming off a crap album. Ummm keep on rocking in the real world everyone. I hope to put another update up on Monday or Tuesday... fingers crossed for some information.

18.08.99 9:10 pm

Well, well, well, let's see. My ChaosMusic stuff is now installed. So if you want to buy some of the cheapest CD's on the net, from a local Australian retailer, this is the place to do. And as an added bonus you'll also help to feed this struggling web master. I'm thinking that I'll add a feature CD of the month to this site. And don't worry I'll also add a link to all the artists whose gigs I review. Well what else is going on? A few more bands have been announced for Weekender. They are Foutains of Wayne, Not From There and Eskimo Joe. So if your that way inclined the lineup seems reasonable. Well it's about the time of the year when Van's Warped Tour rumours start circulating and the rumoured lineup includes the awesome Sprung Monkey and Millencolin. Well we'll see shortly as to who makes it on. ummm anything else... lets see... The Eurythmics are playing in Sydney on the 27th of October. Oh it looks like the Turn Up Your Radio Tour is skipping Canberra this time round. And Something for Kate and Augi March are playing at the Canberra Workers Club not the ANU Bar. Wow that's the first gig I've ever heard of at Workies. Makes a change. Well this update was brought to you buy, oops I mean by, Deserters Songs by Mercury Rev (AUD$19.45).

Well I've finally gotten around to publishing my Big Day Out photos on the web. Now if you click the photos link on the sidebar you can see the photos I took with a Kodak fun Camera at the Big Day Out. Well also I'm now a Chaos Music associate. So if you want to buy some CD's on the net, at some of cheapest prices, click on the link in the menu bar, and you'll help to keep this website alive. The link will be up soon.

13.08.99 8:42 pm

I know, I know I've been slack this week.... I said I was going to update but I didn't... Bloody uni work. Well now that my whinge is out of the way down to business. It's been a pretty busy week music wise as well. I went to see Alex Lloyd on Wednesday, and was mighty impressed. Check out the review on my reviews page. Two new Canberra gigs this week, Superheist play the Gypsy Bar on September 4, and on the same night Something for Kate play the ANU with Augie March on the same evenning. On the festival scene there have been some new additions to both Weekender and Livid 99. Added to the Weekender lineup were Area , Gerling and blue guitarist Jimmy Little. Up in Brisbane a whole slew of new acts were added to the Livid lineup on the Loudmouth Stage. As I said Suicidal Tendancies, will play Livid along with Less than Jake and 22 Jacks. Other Acts I didn't know about playing are the Supersuckers, John Spider, 28 Days, Area 7 and John Lee Spider. That Livid lineup just keeps getting better and better. Well last but not least here's a couple of rumours for y'all to keep you on you toes. Rumoured to be gracing our wide brown land early next year are Limp Bizkit, Blink 182, Pennywise on a non-warped related tour, NoFX and Lit. I also heard somewhere that Antagonistic Front may be returning to Australia at some point, but don't quote me on that. Oh well until next time, later all. This update was brought to you by silence.

09.08.99 7:14pm

Just a short update.... I've now added some pretty piccies and a new layout, as you can see from the top bar. On Wendesday, as well as some news, I'll also be adding the first of my new gig reviews. Expect to see it sometime early the following morning. Well until I next have news.... See ya. This update was brought to you by Fat Boy Slim, You've come a long way baby.

07.08.99 7:14pm

Well, here's an ugly combination of acts. You knbow how I said Garbage would be touring through Canberra, well unfortunately they're touring with, wait for it, Alanis Morissette. Ewwwwww, I know. I;m not paying money to see Alanis live, sorry. On a brighter note Less than Jake and Frenzel Rhomb will visit Canberra on their forthcoming national tour. So look out for them on the 30th September. Also happenning in September is Emotions, a party featuring Jumping Jack, Nik Fish and Paul "Flex" Taylor all doing three hour sets. So lookout for tickets around the place. In other dance news Pee Wee Ferris will be playing at the industry night at the Red Room on the 19th August. Lastly Iota will launching his debut on the 18th September. Well this update has been brought to you by Limp Bizkit's Three Dollar Bill Y'all.... an awesome album.

04.08.99 9:03pm

Alrighty, well I now know where I'll be hangin' out New Years Eve this year, its a small farm in Lorne, Victoria. I'll be there with a few thousand other punters, seeing in the New Year to the sounds of the Violent Femmes. THAT'S RIGHT kiddies, this years Falls headliners are the one, the only Violent Femmes, so if you want to find me on December 31, you'll have to get a travelling. Also if you've seen the top of the page and bothered to read it, I've changed the name of the page. I know it's a little bit, well, lame, but atleast it's a bit more descriptive than my last title. Also in the news, it appears that Reel Big Fish will be coming our way once again, as part of the Livid festival, and to prove they're still in touch with the plebs amongst us, they'll also launch another tour around the nation. This time they're bringing with them 22 Jacks. They'll be stopping off in Canberra on the 8th October. Now seeing as the Jacks will be in the country, also expect to see them announced in the next ammendments to the Livid lineup. I'm still hoping on a wing and a prayer that Mercury Rev will involve themselves in a full scale tour, as I don't think the festival stage will do their soothing melodies the justice they deserve. Well hopefully I'll have some more local gig info soon. Oh and BTW I still haven't heard anyone else give details of Garbage tour. SO remember it was a scoop for GMU. Till tomorrow (puts on stupid yankee accent) I LOVE you all, goodnight.

02.08.99 9:43pm

Australia's favorite rockabily punksters, the Living End, are touring the nation once again. The tour kicks off after the band return from their stint on the Warped Tourin the US. The Living End are also playing both Reading and the Bizare Festival in the UK and Europe respectively. Well have a good day. Check back on Wednesday and Thursday for more news.

31.07.99 9:43pm

Well I was going to give the page a bit of an international feel, but unfortunately Roskilde and Gladstonberry are over. But instead I would like to take this oppertunity to welcome all my new visitors, I hope you enjoy your stay, and also to encourage all of you out there in websville to join my mailing list so you can get the freshest news delivered straight to your mailbox.... If you have any comments please, please, email me. Well until next time... later all

30.07.99 8:33pm

Drum role please... I have some new acts for Livid 99. Three of them in fact.Sebedoh, the Lou Barlow (Folk Implosion, Pavement?) lo-fi powerhouse. Along with the adoringly obnoxious Ben Lee and Alex Loyd, who I will hopefully see live andreview very soon. Woo, so that's an indie trio for Livid. They'll be joining Garbage, Offspring, You Am I, Frenzal Rhomb, Spiderbait, Mercury Rev, Fountainsof Wayne, Suede, Powderfinger, Coloured Stone, Reel Big Fish, Gerling. So it lookslike a kicker of a good Livid this year.

28.07.99 8:25pm

Hmmm not much in the way of news this week. The only real news, a rumour,J Mascis, the former Dinosaur Junior lead singer, may be joining the lineup forGlenworth Valley 99. Woooooooooo I just found out that Garbage will be doing afull national tour, and one of the dates will be in Canberra. They're playing onthe 11 October at Bruce Indoor Stadium. And you say I don't bring you the news first.I just have to do more research for it. An aside here, thhat make October a busy monthfor all you punters out there. They're also playing dates in Perth, Adelaide,Syndey, Melbourne, Wollongong and Newcastle. Check you local guides for pending details,or check out the Garbage website. They are also headlining the Livid festival, which is awesome, cos it means the Offspring are not. Dumdididum. Check back tomorrow formore information. I've also updated the old news.

27.07.99 7:00pm

Well you should always expect the unexpected, I have news... This is a maybe, but I'lladd it anyway. Nancy Vandal and the Tennents may play the ANU Bar on the 14 August. yay. These are two absolutely awesomely kickass bands... Well until tomorrow, tata.

26.07.99 8:14pm

For those of you who want to know what's going on around the place each week,I now have a mailing list, you can subscribe to it at the bottom of the page. The emailupdate will be sent out every Friday night, so y'all can make decisions about what to dowith your weekend. I also have some concert news, which I'd almost forgotten. Don't ruleout Suicidal Tendancies for Livid, and watch out for Less Than Jake on the Livid lineup,I reckon they'll be playing with all the awesome acts on the Loudmouth stage. If anyone has any Falls, Big Day Out or Vibes gossip, email it to me, please. Later all......

Only one small annoucement. Pollyanna will be playing the UC Refctory on the14th September. Should be a cheap gig, I imagine, or atleast I hope. Well more newsas it comes to hand.

22.07.99 6:47pm

Well just as I thought todays was going to be a boring update, I have the next additionsto the Livid lineup, and I'd publically like to give myself a pat on the back for correctlyannouncing the next lot of bands for Livid, well atleast some of them.... So yesterday Ispeculated that Suede, Mercury Rev and Evan Dando would be on the tour, well apart from EvanDando and Suicidal I was correct. Fifty/fifty. The other bands are Reel Big Fish, who ain't toobad, and who also may come back to Canberra; Powderfinger; Gerling; Not From There; the otherinternational Fountains of Wayne; and some odd band Coloured Stone, who performed at the openningceremony of the Malaysian Commonwealth Games. In other, more unfortunate Livid news, Faithless havehad to pull out of the tour. So other acts will be announced for the Livid Lounge soon. My finalpiece of news, is that Regurgitator will be coming to Canberra, my date was way off, but they willbe playing at the UC Refectory, with Custard. Well adios people.

21.07.99 10:42pm

Another two bands for Livid just dawned on my as I was browsing the we. Mercury Rev aretouring the country in October, and it looks as if they have a hole in their tour schedule. The same can be said for those psycho mothers, Suicidal Tendancies. So look out for those twonames on upcoming Livid advertisments. I really hope I'm on the pulse here... Ofcourse theother alternative is that ST and Mercury Rev are playing Weekender 99. We'll have to just sitback and wait to see. Well that's all for tonight, my mind is working overtime, and so am Ijust trying to keep up to date with what's going on. See y'all tomorrow, maybe.

Unfortunately I have no new Livid news, but I do have some other tidbits for y'all. I'm a tadd piddled off, the uncoming Powderfinger gig in Canberra has sold out. So I'm ticket less and peeved. Ummwell, on the same long weeekend as Livid, there is now another festival just north of Sydney, it'scalled the weekender festival. Scheduled to play are: The Offspring, Ben Lee, Suede and Evan Dando.I think this announcement might just give us clues as to the identities of the next batch of bandsfor Livid, namely Suede and Evan Dando, but check back here to confirm the details. Oh, PreShrunk andand Nitocris are sheduled to play a gig on the 28th of August at the UC Refectory. I just realisedthat this is the lineup for the Turn up Your Radio Tour, so it'll be at UC instead of ANU this year, just remember that kiddies, UC not ANU. On the funnierside of things, a woman is seeking an aprehended violence order against Zach de la Rocha of RageAgainst the Machine, as he has been stalking her since Big Day Out 1996. You make your own minds up.Now I hope you all remember the band Paw, they had that song Jesse, well they're back together againand may be back here in August. Sheesh big day in news. Also Deftones are going back into the studioto start work on their next album.... yayayayay. Last but not least, the falls is on again this yearfor new years weekend. The lineup shall be announced soon. Hmmm what to do for new years? Oh wellas Apu says... Thankyou come again. Oh just as an endnote, the Livid Page is now going to be afestivals page.

18.07.99

As you can see I've been tweaking the page a bit for readability. I hope to introducesome more improvements to the user interface shortly. On a completely unrelated note, I'veuploaded the list of things to find for this years ANU Bush Week Scav Hunt. To see them clickhere. As you can see the new feature of a Navigation bar next to thenews should make finding your way around the page just that little bit easier. That Combined withthe links to useful things in my news...

17.07.99

I have moved last weeks news to a new page, at the end of every week, I'll put allthe news there. So to look at last weeks news, click here.On an slightly less positive note, it doesn't look like Monster Magnet will be comingto Canberra. Next Tuesday, I'll have info on the next batch of bands for Livid... Sostay tuned.

16.07.99 pm

New news, Less than Jake shall be touring Australia again, for those of you whodon't know who they are, you missed last years Warped, didn't you. tsk tsk. They'll be touring with our own Frenzal Rhomb. That should be happenning about September. Let'sjust hope they include a Canberra date in their lineup. Also Triple J's Turn upYour Radio Tour is hitting town again. The lineup this time Pre-Shrunk, 28 DaysMotor Ace, and wait for it, Nitocris. It'll be cheap and grouse, as they alwaysare. My final note is to Regurgitator.... If you want any semblence of a fan base inCanberra, you'd fill the hole in your tour itinery, on the 13 th of August, with a gigin Canberra, even if it had to be in the UC Refectory again.... I hope they will. Finalshminal, I feel like spectulating on the lineup of this years Aussie leg of the WarpedTour. Remember this is pure heresay, so it'll prolly be very, very wrong..... but here goes: Blink 182, Grinspoon, The Living End, Pennywise, Ice T, Molotov, The Vanals, Eminemand more. This speculation comes direct from the bands listed on the US Warped Tour lineup.Well I think that's all I can manage to pull out of my ass today. Have fun kiddies.

16.07.99

Its amazing the tidbits you pick up when you trawl the street press. Today Icame accross another more exciting addition to the Big Day Out unconfirmed lineup, the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I have also heard rumours from some very reliable sourcesthat Lees and West were in negotiation with the Cure as well. My final BDO rumourfor today, is Fear Factory.... At their gig in Canberra, earlier this year, they made comments to the effect that they would be touring Australia at some point intime and were in negotiations about a Big Day Out performance. Last thing for today, the next additions to the Livid lineup should be out announced. Let me just rephrasethat Chili Peppers news, according the Anthony Kiedis, they will be out for Big Day Out2000.

13.07.99

Pigs do fly, Spiderbait are touring and are coming toCanberra. Close to a first for those boys and girl. Also... I expect that ifMonster Magnet do come to Canberra, they'll play about the 17th of August.

12.07.99

For those of you, like myself, who are contemplating a trip to Brisvegas thisyear, for Livid 99, I've compiled a list of the costs involved to travel by planeand train, from both Canberra and Sydney. Along with this, I've visited the Lonely Planet web site and had a look atthe costs of accomodation in Brisbane, as well as things to do.

Livid 99

08.07.99

Word has it on the street that Monster Magnet will be making they're way toCanberra on their forthcoming tour of Australia. The date has not been announcedyet, but a local promoter was overheard talking of poster art. So I hope to bebringing you more news in the very near future. Also we have confirmation thatLivid this year will feature a return visit to Australia by the Offspring, alongwith Faithless and wait for it .... Garbage. In other festival related news theChemical Brothers are rumoured to have confirmed their presence on Big Day Out2000, but will have to wait until September to confirm that one. Oh by the way ifanyone reads this and thinks they'd like to sponsor me, then please get incontact.
