Arghhh.. Canberra has gigs, and lots of them... Ministry of Sound are bringing an Aussie club tour through town... P'NAU, Grrove Terminator, Sean Quinn and Madison Avenue all play the UC bar. Also the two Alex Lloyd shows have been compressed into one show at a larger venue, the Canberra Labour Club. Pity about that. Also coming to town are US band Tonic playing at the Uni Bar on 12th of July... Finally, the last students night for the semester sees Endorphin lineup for the duties... BTW I think I'll be seperating the dance section of the site off to a new address... Check back soon for more details.. Due to the smelly olympics, Livid has been moved back this year... It's on the 21st of October at the usual venue... Tix go on sale from the 3rd of July.. Filter shall be touring the nation in February, playing dates in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. They'll be playing two shows at the Metro in Sydney on 19th and 20th of February.... Also the Big Day Out lineup was finalised a few days ago, a whole bunch of Aussie bands were added and Aphex Twin were removed. I'll add the list to the gigs page shortly. Changes to the page have come... I've updated the upcoming gigs page. I put some Sydney gigs up there; the Big Day Out side tours. I've also added a deja news forum to the webpage.. So when I'm off sojourning around the place for concerts, that's where all the news will go. And it may just go there anyways. Umm and please start some discussions and stuff there, I need some comments, etc. Oh well till later...
Arghhh... I've been a hunting for more Big Day Out info, and well I've dug up some possibilities. On the cover of Juice magazine this month there was a feature on the BDO and mentioned as playing were your favorite band and mine RATM, so I wonder if we'll see them. Also bumping about is a rumour that Pennywise'll be down under for the Big Day Out. They must really be addicted to the awesome surf we have down here, and seeing as there was no Warped this year they needed an excuse. In more local news, Alex Lloyd will be playing in Canberra on the 2nd December at the ANU; Even played last night but I didn't see them, and I might be going to Metal for the Brain tomorrow night, so if your going I might see you there. Yet Another BIG DAY OUT announcement... We have new bands playing... Atari Teenage Riot, Jebediah, Pee Wee Ferris, and as I rumoured, the Foo Fighters. Yaya... This Big Day Out is going to be the best one yet. So put on your dancing shoes boys and girls. I know I'll be there. More tommorrow. Yes more bands have been announced for the Falls, more you say, yes more. They are The Fauves, Magic Dirt, Rocket Science and Biscuit. So it looks as if it's going to be the best way to see in the new year. On a more personal note, guys please remember that the new millenium isn't till 2001. Well I'll see you all later. Tonnes of new reviews after Monday. Righto Korn's new disc gets it's review tomorrow, it's pretty good. But until then there are a few new bands for the Falls, Pollyanna, SixFtHick, Toe to Toe and Felicity Hunter. In other news the Bass player from Rammstein died in a plane crash over the weekend, so it looks as if we won't be seeing them in Australia for another year or two, if at all. Also you'll notice that the page has had a facelift, I hope you like it. I know, I know, I said no updates until Wendesday, but I'm bored, so I've done a little bit of house keeping. Canberra gigs have been updated, and this includes stuff on Metal for the Brain IX, and the upcoming gigs. The Whitlams shall be in Canberra on the 9th of December at the ANU Bar. There's a few other thing happenning so check them out below. Well enjoy yourselves. Until Monday when I put up my review of Korn's new disc Issues, cya. I know, I know, I've gotta get around to updating more often. But seeing as I'm in the middle of uni exams can you forgive me just this once. So from bot until the 22 nd of November expect updates only when I've got new info, or on Wednesdays. So what have I got for y'all is three new bands for the Falls; Alex Lloyd, Primary and Superheist. That's about all, I'll see you later. Alrighty the next installment of the Big Day Out lineup, just hit my mail box.... And here it is... and my source was wrong.... d'oh!!! So no Foo Fighters or Slipknot yet... But announced were Basment Jaxx, Goldie, Beth Orton, Resin Dogs, The Hellacopters (top Swedish rock band!), The Cruel Sea, Gerling, Josh Abrahams & Amiel, Frenzal Rhomb, NoKTuRNL, DJ Sean Quinn, Pound System. And playing on the East Coast only; Aphex Twin plus Rephlex Allstars (UK), 28 Days, Samonella Dub (NZ), Pitch Black (NZ), DJ Zeitgeist. In Sydney only there is Ozomalti from the USA. Well that's pretty good, I mean I'm really hanging out to see Beth Orton, who is just spectacular. Well until next time guys and dolls, I'll see you all later. |
