Accomodation
By far the cheapest way to stay if there are only a few of you travelling is in one of Australia's good ol' Youth Hostels. At between $16-17 a night, your laughing. According to those very nice people at Lonely Planet the facilities are top notch. And if you have a little more cash to splurge you can get a room with an ensuite. Wow classy. And as and added bonus, the hostel is close to the nightlife as well. I'm in!!!
If you looking for something a little classier, there's always motels and hotels in Brisbane, but for discount accomodation you'll have to look a little bit futher a field. Your best bet to find accomodation is to look in the NRMA's holiday guides, they also provide special discounts for members. If your sharing between two or three you'll be looking at about $26 a night.
What to do whilst in Brisane?
Well this is Queensland, so the most famous attraction is the world famous giant bud in the central business district. No seriously, what can you do in Brisbane. Well it does have a nitelife, ie clubs bars and the rest of it. This is concentrated in the city center along Caxton Street in Paddington. But this Brisbane wouldn't be an Australian city without it having a seedy underbelly, and that is Fortitude Valley. Fortitude Valley, that's where all that bloody RSL raffle junk comes from. How can that be a seedy place? Oh well. There's lots of other stuff to do in Brissy, my advice investigate yourself and have an adventure. Shit I'm sounding to enthusiastic.
